Jenny Lynne Lynes was born in Dr. Doug Head’s Clinic in Zebulon, GA on June 21,
1946. She was the oldest daughter of Wesley Jenkins and Marcelle Daniel Lynes. Her father, “Jenks”, was still at Walter Reed from WWII wounds at the Battle of the Bulge. Her brother, Dan, was 2 years older and another sister, Annette Lynes, would join the family in September 1950.

Besides her paternal family, Jenny was very close to her grandparents, Claude & Lou Daniel and with Marcelle’s sisters, Charlotte & Virginia. Uncle Bob & “Doc” were nearby & special uncles.

Jenny Lynne is survived by her brother, Dan, & his wife, Linda who live in Southeastern North Carolina. She is also survived by her niece, Jennie Brewton-Dufur of San Clemente, CA & her husband, Don. Jennie is the daughter of John & Annette Lynes Brewton, both of whom
are deceased.
Dan & Linda Lynes’ son, David, Jenny’s nephew, is a USAF Major with the Osprey
program at Hurlburt Field, FL. His fiancé is Stacey Ell, a Pharmacist, originally from NY but is now living with David in Destin, FL. Other Nephews include Jon Parker & Timm Parker who live with their families just outside Atlanta, GA.

Jenny grew up in Panama City, lived in “The Cove”, attended Cherry Street School, Jenks Junior High, & Bay County High School. She obtained a US Army Nursing Scholarship to Florida State University and was commissioned a 2nd Lieutenant in the Army Nurse Corps in 1968 - with two additional years of nursing training required before she could Board Certify.
In 1970 she nursed & treated the wounded coming back from Vietnam, at Triplett Army Hospital near Honolulu. She was married and divorced from a Army colleague & had a son, Matthew David Crawford. Matthew is also deceased.

In 1985 Jenny Honorably Discharged from the Army at Ft Rucker as a Major. She
returned to Panama City to help care for her mother & father. When her father passed in 1989 she moved with her mother, Marcelle, back to Marcelle’s girlhood home in Molena, GA. Her support group & beloved Aunts , Virginia & Charlotte, lived close by. Jenny moved back to Panama when her mother passed in 2003. She was near John Brewton, her brother in law, who in 2012 retired as a nurse from The Bay Medical Center. John passed in 2016. John was an angel before his passing, visiting Jenny at Sims several times a week.

In 2014, John & Dan were able to find & qualify Jenny for the Chester J Sims VA
