In Remembrance of our beloved Mother Jerri W. Lydick.

Jerri was born on October 15, 1929, to Marie (meme) Vandeverg Tompkins and Leonard D. Tompkins of Jamaica Long Island, New York.

On Monday, July 10, 2017, Heaven rejoiced as mom went home to be with our Lord and Savior. There she is reunited with her parents, her husband Allen R. Lydick, sister Jean Buckley, and grandson Drew Lydick.

During World War II, she met the love of her life, Allen R. Lydick. They were married on April 23, 1945. We, their children, Steven Lydick (Janice), Robert Lydick (Nancy), Sharon Couch (Larry Sr.), John Lydick (Kim). Remembered for her loving care not only to us, but to many other family members and friends. She leaves 10 grandchildren, 12 great grandchildren and 1 great great-granddaughter.
Her strength was put to the test as she traveled by ship to Germany with four children all under 10 years of age. We were meeting Dad there as he became part of the U.S. Government program known as the Education Exchange Service. He was teaching business to German auto workers after the war. This was a very exciting and educational time for all of us.

Mom and dad moved to Panama City Beach in 1979 as their retirement home. They were faithful members of Christ our Savior Lutheran Church on Panama City Beach, until their passing. Mom headed the “Heart Pillow Group” where she was nominated for the “Jefferson Award.” The Heart Pillows where made for the Heart Institute of Bay Medical Sacred Heart Hospital, for the many heart patients.

Viewing will be from 6:00 P. M. – 8:00 P.M. on Friday, July 14, 2017 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on 23rd St. and Harrison Avenue in Panama City.

Funeral services will be held at 12:00 P.M. Saturday, July 15, 2017 at Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church 300 Clara Avenue on Panama City Beach conducted by Rev. Jack Onkka. Graveside internment service will follow at Forest Lawn Memorial Cemetery in Panama City. This service will be conducted by her son Rev. Robert Lydick.

We wish to thank the staff at St. Andrews Nursing and Rehab for their loving care and Emerald Coast Hospice for their care and guidance in her final days.

In lieu of flowers memorials contributions may be made to Christ Our Savior Lutheran Church.
