JERRY EUGENE ROBINSON
Jerry Eugene Robinson, 83, of Panama City, Florida, passed away Tuesday, December 5, 2017 after a long battle with Parkin’s Disease. Jerry was born in Crestview Florida January 12, 1934. After graduating from Walton County High School in Defuniak Springs Florida he married the love of his life and moved to Pensacola Florida where he worked as a sales agent in a State Farm Insurance agency for several years until he had the opportunity in 1959 to open his own business, a State Farm Insurance Agency in Panama City, Florida. Jerry was very active in his community and his church, First Baptist Church of Panama City for 39 years , until his retirement in 1998. Jerry enjoyed spending time with his family and was always ready for a fishing trip, which was his favorite pastime. He also was a longtime member of the Masonic Lodge and Shaddai Shrine Temple. Jerry enjoyed people and was kind and generous to everyone he knew. That kindness was extended to those he did not know as well because he truly lived his life by the “Golden Rule” of treating others as you would want to be treated.
Jerry was preceded in death by his daughter, Dian Robinson, parents, Taft M. Robinson and Bonnie Lou (White)Robinson. Survivors include his wife, Joyce Jean (Smith) Robinson; daughter, Teresa Ann Robinson Gooding and son-in-law, John M. Gooding, his grandson, Adam Gregory Kirk and wife, Cristine and her sons, James Knox and Brett Knox who became his great grandsons through love and Jerry’s sister, Roberta Robinson Brooks and husband, Stephen F. Brooks and niece, Stephanie Brooks and a daughter through love, Theresa Fountain and her family, Jerry Fountain, Chris Fountain, Jennifer Fountain and Curtis Fountain.
A celebration of life ceremony will be held at First Baptist Church of Panama City, Saturday, December 9, 2017 at 11:00 am. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel Friday, December 8, 2017 from 6:00pm to 8:00 pm. In lieu of flowers you may choose to make a donation to the charity of your choice in memory of Jerry E. Robinson.
