Jesse O. Blevins, of Panama City, Florida formerly of Lincoln county, West Virginia was born February 29, 1940 in Sullivan, Indiana and departed this life for life eternal on April 16,2018 at Gulf Coast Medical Center in Panama City, Florida.
Staff Sargent E-6,Jesse Blevins was a proud member of the Armed Forces of the United States of America in the 18th Engineering Battalion Company D for 10 years, serving one term in Vietnam where he was given the Vietnamese name fire by the Vietnam combatants and was awarded the Bronze Star Medal, Purple Heart with first oak leaf cluster, National Defense Service Medal, Vietnam Campaign Medal, Good Conduct Medal, Expert Badge in M-16 and M-14 rifles, and Marksman Badge.
He is survived by his loving wife, Mary Dalrymple, 3 step sons, Stewart Dalrymple (Jane) of Clermont, Florida, Kevin Dalrymple of Panama City, Florida, and Johnny Writesman of Danville,WV and 1 step daughter, Katey Gwinn (Greg) of Sarah Ann,WV and a number of grandchildren and great grandchildren.
A Celebration of Life will be held on Thursday April 19,2018 from 12:00 to 3:00p.m. at his home in Panama City, Florida.
