JEWELL ELAINE WHITFIELD

Jewell Elaine Whitfield, 91, of Panama City, passed away September 10, 2020. Jewell was born in Columbus, GA, and lived most of her life in Panama City. She worked as an inspector at the Royal Crown Bottling Company, and was a wonderful mother to her children. Jewell was a longtime, faithful member of the Hiland Park Baptist Church and the Sunshine Ladies Sunday School Class. She enjoyed quilting, fishing at the river, and spending time with her family and friends. Jewell was preceded in death by her husband, Owen Whitfield, Jr. and a daughter, Pam Riley.

Survivors include her children, James Michael "Mike" Whitfield and his wife Kim of Lynn Haven, Sandra Tolbert of Lynn Haven and Kim Wood and her husband Tony of Panama City; a sister, Verattor Burton; 7 grandchildren and 8 great-grandchildren.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Monday, September 14, 2020, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Carl Fondren officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 PM until service time at 2:00 or you are welcome to meet us at Evergreen Memorial Gardens for the graveside service. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Hiland Park Baptist Church in memory of Jewell.
