Jimmy Donald Honnoll, 83 of Panama City Beach, passed away January 13, 2022 at Ascension Sacred Heart Hospital in Panama City. Jimmy was born December 2, 1938 in Waco, TX to Vernon and Mabel (Yarborough) Honnoll. Jimmy was a true American patriot. He served his county in the United States Army during the Vietnam War and did two tours of duty. Jimmy served as a Heavy Vehicle Driver for the Texas Army National Guard from 1955-57 earning the rank of PFC. He also served in the US Army in both Field Artillery and Transportation from 1961-1972 earning the rank and title of Staff Sergeant/instructor in MOS 67N4H. He continued his service overseas as a Field Artillery crewman and gunner in Germany and then went to Vietnam and served as a Utility Helicopter Observer, Door Gunner, Mechanic and Crew Chief in MOS 67N. He had over 30 months of Combat Service serving from Feb 66-July 67 and Feb 69-Feb 1970. Jimmy was also a 33 Degree Mason and a member of the Shaddai Shrine in Panama City. Jimmy received numerous commendations, awards and decorations which include the Bronze Star, Air Medal w/V Device, Air Medal w/ 10 OLC’s, the Army Commendation Medal, Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Medal, NCO Professional Development Medal w/ Numeral 2, the Vietnam Service Medal and the Vietnam Campaign Medal. He is preceded in death by his parents; his wife, Jacqueline, a son, Mike and a daughter Vivian. Jimmy is survived by his sons, Steve and his wife Gloria; Kenny and his wife Linda; Doug and his wife Dot; grandchildren, Kevin and his wife Deena, Katie and her wife Jesse, Chris and his wife Kristyn, Angela, Scott, Wesley, Jennifer and her husband Eric and Robin and his great grandchildren, Will, Colleen, Henri, Phen, Zack, Warren, Ella, Emma and Isiah and his cousin, Joyce Spencer of Alaska. Friends will be received 12-1:00 pm Thursday at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home where funeral services will take place that afternoon at 1 pm. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.
