Dr. John J. Maceluch (78) passed to his Heavenly Reward at his home on March 23, 2020 surrounded by family. "Dr. John" as most everyone knew him was a Pro-Life OBGYN and USAF Reserve Flight Surgeon. During his practice he saved many lives, performed scores of flight physicals, and delivered thousands of babies. He served stateside active duty during the Gulf War and retired after 31 years at the rank of Colonel. He was an avid pilot, Eagle Scout, and world traveler often making pilgrimages to Catholic holy sites throughout the world with his family. Known for his generosity, dry humor, sharp mind, and eccentricity he was beloved by his patients and those close to him. Dr. Maceluch was preceded in death by his parents MSGT J.Z. (USMC) and Margaret Maceluch, his daughter Paula, and his foster brother William (Bill) Leith. He is survived by Viginia Maceluch, his wife of 20 years, Robert (brother), and his wife Joanne, Sylvia Maceluch (his first wife of 32 years), their sons, John Jr. and Keith, Nadia Maceluch (Keith’s wife), and grandsons Michael and Nikolas. Public viewing and Rosary service will be held at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home on Sunday, March 29, 2020 from 6-8pm. A private Mass of Christian Burial will be held at Saints Peter and Paul Catholic Church for the family. He will be interred at the Barrancas National Cemetery in Pensacola. In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations in his memory to St. John's Catholic School, 1005 Fortune Ave, Panama City, FL 32401.
