John T. Maddox “Tommy”, 67, of Chipley, FL passed away on April 21, 2021 due to recent health complications. He was born in Panama City, FL on February 26, 1954 to the late James Warren and Mavis Voncile Maddox.
Tommy is survived by his spouse of 25 years, JoAnne Maddox of Chipley, FL; two daughters Kim (Charlie) Hunt of Senoia, GA; Angie (Chad) Smith of Moreland, GA; grandchildren Dylan (Caroline) Sims; Cole Smith; Grayson McCarty; great-grandchild Andrew Sims; brother Mike (Sherry) Maddox of Panama City, FL; sister Beverley (Don) Moniz of Panama City, FL; several nieces and nephews and his beloved dog, Zeus.
Tommy retired from BellSouth/AT&T in 2009 after 38 years of service. During his 38 years he was a lineman, installer, and a cable repair tech. He was a former president for the local union CWA. He was formerly involved in the Jaycees. He was a former softball player. He loved going to the races with his brother and dad. He loved the water fishing, diving, boating, and scalloping.
Mr. Maddox will be cremated, and a private celebration of life is planned for June.
