John Wayne Turk
June 2, 1943 ~ February 8, 2024 (age 80) 80 Years Old
John Wayne Turk, age 80, of Panama City, FL., who was loved and adored by his family, passed away on February 8, 2024.
He was born to John and Grace Turk on June 2, 1943 in Marion, AL.
He loved flying in his younger years and later in life became an avid sailor, cruising back and forth from the Bahamas several times with his wife. He once served as Commodore of St Andrew Bay Yacht Club, Treasurer of the Panama City Parrot Head Club, and President of the HOA where they lived.
He was General Manager of Lowes for 18 years in Montgomery and Prattville, AL., and in Panama City, FL. He eventually became an Account Resolution Analyst for Key Electric for 15 years and continued this position part time from home after retirement. He always had an incredible relationship with customers and co-workers.
Wayne was preceded in death by his parents John and Grace Turk, Sister Hazel Bergdoll and Brother Allen Turk. He is survived by his loving wife of 60 years, Jan, his children Mike (Danielle) Turk, Cindy (Joe) Freese, his grandchildren Jimbo (Allison) Turk, Jake (Sarah) Turk and Shelby Freese (Garrett Feemster), his great granddaughter Jane Collins Turk and his sister Judy Barton.
A Memorial Service will be conducted on February 18, 2024 at 2:00 pm at First United Methodist Church, 903 E Fourth Street, Panama City, FL. Visitation will follow service.
