Tribute

JOHNNY LEE BROCK, SR.

Johnny Lee Brock, Sr., 67, of Callaway, Florida was called home on Thursday, March 19, 2020.
Johnny was born on September 9, 1952 in Bonifay, Florida yet he resided in Panama City, Florida for the duration of his life.

Johnny was a graduate of Rutherford High School, Class of 1972. After graduating, he was called to spread the word of God. He spent two years in Washington State serving the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints on a mission. His devout faithfulness also led him to become Branch President and hold the position of High Priest. With his authority, he happily, and with honor, presided over the unions of many including some of his own children.

From a young age, Johnny had a passion for cars, mechanics, and serving others in his community.
These passions led him to own and manage two local service stations in Downtown Panama City: Brock’s Holiday Inn Gulf Station and Brock’s Downtown Gulf/BP Station. Johnny was a member of the Bay District School Board for 12 years because he believed in the importance of education. He owned and operated Brock’s Mobile Home Park in Parker, Florida for many years. He spent his later years working for the Bay District School’s Department of Transportation as a bus driver.

Johnny was truly a family man. He was supportive of his children and always there for them whether it be as youth softball coach, peewee football fan, or along for a Boy Scout camping trip. Along with his children he shared a love for Nascar, motorcycles, dirt-track racing, and Florida Gator Football.
Johnny was preceded in death by his twins.

He is survived by his wife, Judy Brock, of 44 years. Together they shared 11 children, 27grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren. He leaves behind a legacy of faith, love, and family that will forever live on in those who had the opportunity to know him.

Graveside funeral services for Johnny will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, March 23, 2020, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Sunday, March 22, from 1:00 until 4:00 PM. Comments may be made on his Facebook page Johnny Lee Brock, Sr..
