JOHNNY MACK "J. R." ROBERSON
Johnny Mack "J. R." Roberson, 72, of Panama City, passed away Sunday, May 6, 2018. J. R. was born in Dothan, AL, and lived in Bay County since 1970. He served in the Army National Guard, and moved to Panama City to work as an assistant manager at Gaylords Department Store. J. R. worked with MetLife for over 30 years as an agent and agency owner. He loved all kinds of music, and was a member of The Country Connection and other bands over the years. J. R. enjoyed golf and fishing, and was a member of the Forest Park United Methodist Church.
Survivors include his children, Cynthia Michelle Boyer (Loren) of Valparaiso, FL, Tracey Dawn Whitfield (Ray) of Southport, and John Joseph Roberson of Panama City; his siblings, Faye Williams of Sylvester, GA and Bubba Kirkland and Kaye Kirkland, both of Enterprise, AL; his grandchildren, Amber Lee Wolk, Bethany McKenzie, Franki Harris, Laken George, Katie and Cassidy Whitfield and Riley and Taylor Roberson; 2 great-grandchildren; and other relatives and friends.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Friday, May 11, 2018, at the Forest Park United Methodist Church with Dr. John Friedman officiating. Interment will be at 2:00 PM Friday afternoon at Memory Hill Cemetery, 2414 Hartford Highway, Dothan, AL 36305. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel Thursday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Forest Park United Methodist Church in memory of Johnny Mack Roberson.
