In Loving Memory

Joyce Elaine Valentine (Colwell) of Panama City Beach, Florida was called home to Heaven on Monday, June 29th, 2020.

Joyce was born on February 4th, 1935 in Susquehanna, Pennsylvania, the daughter of the late Kenneth C. Colwell and Ruth L. Decker and the oldest of nine children. Immediately following graduation from Blue Ridge High School, she enrolled in the Wilson Memorial School of Nursing in Binghamton, NY. After graduating in 1956, Joyce served as a registered nurse in Pennsylvania, Tennessee, and Florida for a total of 43 fulfilling years.

This loss is shared with Joyce’s family. Siblings Robert Colwell (Shelby), Willard Colwell, Edward Colwell (Dorothea), Paul Colwell, Harold Colwell (Lorraine), Esther Frantz, Eugene Colwell, and Debra Wood (Robert). Children Jon Valentine (fiancée Linda Hindman), Steven Valentine (Cherie), and Laurie Hallemeier (Dane). Grandchildren Lyric Madden (fiancé Jon Haney), Philip Valentine, David Valentine, and Taylor Parks. Great grandchild Kylee Haney. Numerous nieces and nephews, as well as great nieces and nephews.

Joyce is preceded in death by her husband James William Valentine.

A remembrance of Joyce will be held on Thursday, July 2nd, 2020 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel, with visitation from 1-3 and service immediately following. Refreshments will be provided at the Hallemeier home following the service for those who wish to attend.
