Judith Buhat Hamner left this earthly world to live in her new heavenly home on July 7th, 2020. She was born on Christmas Day of 1965 and was raised in Manila, Philippines. She migrated to the United States in 1987 with her husband Robert Aguila Buhat (USAF deceased 2007) and her daughter Finesse Paula Buhat.
After being widowed for 10 years, she married Joseph Lee Hamner on November 25th, 2016 at the
First Baptist Church of Panama City, Florida.
She was educated at St. Paul University with a degree in Communication Arts and later obtained a
Master of Science degree in Business Management from Troy University. She worked as a
Level III Warranted Contracting Officer for the United States Air Force. As a Contracting Officer, she was responsible for acquisition, contractual responsibilities and oversight of governmental contracts. She first gained recognition for her distinguished performance from the United States Air Force in 2017. Then in 2018 she was awarded the Tyndall Air Force Base Civilian of the Quarter. Then again in 2018, she was awarded the Air Force Installation & Mission Support Center Civilian of the Quarter. Prior to joining the Department of Defense, she was a Lender Relations Specialist for the Sallie Mae Corporation. She was Sallie Mae’s Employee of the Year and was a Classy Award recipient. She served as an Advisor to the President of the Filipino-American Association of Bay County, Florida. She also was a member of the Filipino-Sampaguita Association of Panama City, Florida.
She is survived by her husband Joseph Lee Hamner, daughter Finesse Paula Buhat Richardson,
son in law Nathan James Richardson, brother Raymund Ladao, sister in law Didith Ladao and
father Marcelo Ladao.
Funeral services will be held at 2:00 PM Friday, July 17, 2020, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Jay Powell officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories Cemetery. The family will receive friends at Kent-Forest Lawn Thursday, July 16, 2020 from 2:00 until 5:00 PM. In lieu of flowers the family requests donations be made to establish the Judith Buhat Hamner Endowed Scholarship.
