KENNETH JOHNSON
The Family in Celebration of Kenneth Johnson announces his passing, after a lengthy illness on Tuesday, October 23, 2018, at the age of 88.
Kenneth was born in Neshoba County, (Philadelphia, MS), and grew up with his grandparents in Eupora, MS. His military service was in the US Army. He was a fire fighter in Greenville, MS from 1952-1977, becoming the Fire Chief in 1972. Kenneth was a 32nd degree Mason, a Shriner, and a member of Gideon's International.
He was preceded in death by his wife of 27 years, Frances A. (Garrett) Johnson, his mother, Bearvin B. Johnson, his father Ince C. Johnson, Stepmother, Essie M. Johnson, brother, Doyce Johnson, daughter, Jo Ann Johnson, granddaughter, Meredith B. Johnson, great-grandson, Riley K. Johnson, and stepsons, Danny O. McDonald and Steve L. McDonald.
Kenneth will be lovingly missed by his wife of 40 years, Ruth B. (Willis) Johnson and his five children, Barbara A. Johnson, Beth Y. Johnson, Kenneth Johnson II, Beverly J. Stevens (John W. English, Jr.), Garrett Johnson (Dena Bamburg); his stepdaughter-in-law, Jan R. McDonald; stepson, Greg McDonald; his 10 grandchildren Heather D. Zschiedrich (Jody R.), Heidi A. Bass (Jerry L.) (Randy Gardner), Rebekah A. Phillips, Gerald D. Hogue, II (Cindy), Ginger Y. Houpt (Damon D.), Jacqueline S. McGaugh (J. Brian), Mary Ellen McCool, Montgomery P. Johnson (Aurora), Danny K. McDonald (Michelle), Sean M. McDonald (Rashelle). Fondly remembered by his 15 great-grandchildren, Aidan R. Zschiedrich, Seannah A. Palamarczuk, Joseph "Dylan" A. Palamarczuk, Scot P. Chapman, Rebel B. Phillips, Gerald D. Hogue, III, Danielle M. Hogue, Gabriel D. McGaugh, Daphne McGaugh, Helena Y. Houpt, Apollo N. Johnson, Serenity A. Johnson, Merik McDonald, Christopher McDonald (Cassandra) and Daniel Johnston.
The Celebration of the life of Kenneth Johnson will be held Monday, November 5, 2018, at the Fellowship Hall of the Forest Park United Methodist Church, 1401 W. 23rd. St., Panama City, FL, with Dr. John Friedman officiating. Interment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with US Army honors at graveside. The family will receive friends at the Church from 1:00 PM until servicer time at 2:00.
