Leonard Ivan Woodrum, 86, of Columbus, Ga., formally Panama City, Fl. passed away at home on Tuesday Oct. 8, 2019. Graveside services will be held at the Garden of Memories Cemetery in Panama City, Friday, Oct. 11, 2019 at 10:00 a.m. Leonard was born March 30, 1933 in Montcoal, WV to Artie Woodrum and Retha Henderson Woodrum. He was preceded in death by his wife of 65 years, Susie Woodrum, and their son Michael Woodrum. Survivors include his daughters, Cheyanna McBroom (Gill), Angela Thurman Bowes (John), and son, Joel Woodrum (Stephanie). Grandchildren Sabrina Marland, Jeff Harris, Shawna Strickland Morris, Josie Strickland, Amber Hornell, Bobbie Thurman, Christopher Woodrum, Katie Woodrum Ballesteros, and Kevin Woodrum. Great-grandchildren Ryan, Finn, Lylah, Emma, Lennon, Grady, Averly, and Isabella. Mr. Woodrum served 21 yrs. in the Air Force and was a Vietnam Veteran. After military retirement he worked another 20 yrs. in the chemical business all over the Southeast. In his spare time he enjoyed listening to bluegrass music, playing the guitar, and doing Civil War re-enacting where he was the Surgeon General for over 20 yrs. He was known by many as “Doc Woody”.
