Linda Haupt, 62, passed away peacefully in her home in Panama City, Florida Friday afternoon, after a lengthily and courageous battle with breast cancer. She passed in the company of her devoted husband, her sister and niece, and the dogs she loved like her own children. She was born on December 9th, 1956, to Yale and Helen Adkins, in Frankfurt, Germany. She was raised in Bloomington, Indiana, and was a graduate of Bloomington High School South. To call Linda an animal lover wouldn't do her justice, as she had a devotion, respect, and compassion for all of God's creatures that was entwined with her soul. Linda's passion for horses in particular made her a frequent patron of local rodeos, where she would both meet and become engaged to the love of her life, Tim Haupt. They were married June 7th , 2014. Linda is preceded in death by her father, Yale Adkins, and is survived by her mother, Helen Adkins, her husband, Tim Haupt, her sister, Karen Butcher, her niece, Anitra Ham and her husband Rick, her nephew, Nick Butcher, her great-nephew Jacob Day, her father-in-law Fran Haupt of Lynn Haven, FL, her brother-in-law Tony Haupt of Tequesta, FL, by her beloved horses, and her dogs – Sprinkles, Leah, Hoss, and Jessie James. She will always be remembered as a woman with an incredible abundance of character and spirit, never backing down from what she believed was right, and as someone who always carried herself with a sense of strength and certainty that inspired those around her. She will be deeply missed, but her bravery and her heart, will never be forgotten. Friends will be received Monday, April 22, 2019 from 6-8 pm at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home. Friends will also be received Saturday, April 27 from 12:00-2:00 pm at the Allen Funeral Home in Bloomington, IN. Graveside funeral services will be held 2:30 pm on Saturday, April 27, 2019 at Valhalla Memory Gardens in Bloomington.
