Mariann Rita Bacen

Mariann Rita Bacen, 80, of Panama City, passed away on Saturday, November 24, 2018. A native of Dayton, Ohio, Mrs. Bacen was a homemaker.
Known as “Grandma B” to her grandchildren, “Groovy Grandma” to her great grandchildren, and “Miss Glitz” to her friends, Mariann loved horses and dogs. She and her family went on many camping adventures from South Florida all the way to Washington state. She and Frank enjoyed travelling together and made trips to Germany, Ireland, Alaska, San Francisco, the Caribbean, and many other beautiful & interesting places. She enjoyed family gatherings and decorating for the holidays; Christmas was her favorite. During her life, Mariann played accordion, organ, piano, and autoharp, and wanted to learn to play guitar. In recent years, Mariann enjoyed attending Parkway Presbyterian and made many new church friends. She supported St. Jude Hospital, and the family asks that in lieu of flowers a donation be made in her name.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 58 years, Frank Bacen. Mrs. Bacen is survived by 3 children, Vickie Lee (Gary), Mitch Bacen, and Jeff Bacen; 2 grandchildren, David Lee and Katie Hill (Dub); 2 great-grandchildren, Cody Hill and Colton Hill; sister-in-law, Nancy Molledo (Ramon); best friend, Carol Forehand; and many extended family and friends.
Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, November 29, 2018, at 2:00 p.m. at Parkway Presbyterian Church with Dr. Richard Connor officiating. Entombment will follow at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. The family will receive friends and visitors from 1:00 until 2:00 p.m. immediately prior to the service at the church.
