Martha Jo Jones

Martha Jo Jones, 90, of Lynn Haven, Florida passed away Tuesday, September 18, 2018 at a local care center. Martha Jo was born August 10, 1928 in Geneva, AL, daughter of Porter and Grace Barnes.

Martha Jo loved her church and was a long-time member of First Baptist Church of Lynn Haven. She was a devoted wife, mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother. She enjoyed entertaining and sharing a cup of coffee with her neighbors, fishing, and also good country music.

She is preceded in death by her parents, 4 sisters, and 2 brothers. She is survived by her loving husband of 71 years, Rex Wayne Jones; children, Martha Jones Perdue (Wayne) and Roger Wayne Jones (Dianne); brothers, James Barnes; Rodney Barnes (Pat); Larry Barnes (Mary Helen); and Randall Barnes (Judy); sister, Lila Jean Griffin; grandchildren, Kimberly Ellisor (Adam) and Lisa Breese; great-grandchildren, Sheppard Ellisor, Jayden Stubbs, and Nathan Stubbs.

Funeral services will be held at 12:30 PM on Thursday, September 20, 2018, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Tom Daniel officiating. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 12:00 noon until time of service. A private graveside will be held at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Donations may be made to Emerald Coast Hospice, 421 W. Oak Ave, Panama City, FL 32404. The family would like to give special thanks to the nurses on Hall 2 at Bay Center Nursing Home.
