Mary Ann Horst

Mary Ann Horst, age 86, passed away Sunday October 17, 2021 in Panama City Beach Florida. She was born in Daleville, Alabama in 1935. Mary Ann was preceded in death by her husband Frank R. Horst, Sr., her parents John W and Gladys Layfield, sisters Hazel Taylor and Annette Plowden, and a grandson Richard Horst. She enjoyed playing Bridge and Canasta and in her younger days she enjoyed dancing. Mary Ann also worked at Burgin lumber company for many years before joining the Randolph County School system as a secretary. Mary Ann lived most of her adult life in Cuthbert until she moved to Douglas in 1991 where she was a member of the College Avenue Baptist Church. Mary Ann leaves many cherished memories to her children Stephanie Kamishlian (Greg), Anita Nuckolls (Steve), and Frankie Horst (Jonda); grandchildren Tony Horst, Niki Price, Brandey Wheeler, Rand Horst, Joey Kamishlian, Jamie Tayler, Jessie Horst, Kristie Horst, Jordan Laney; as well as many loving great grandchildren, nieces and nephews. Memorial service will be in Douglas at her son’s house November 13. Please contact the family if interested in attending.
