MARY HELEN LaPLANTE

Mary Helen LaPlante, 100, of Panama City, formerly of Mexico Beach, passed away October 6, 2020. Mary Helen was born in Kansas City, MO, and lived in Bay County for 35 years. She served in the US Navy during WWII as a code encryptor, and was of the Catholic Faith. She was preceded in death by her husband of 54 years, Robert LaPlante; 2 sons, Thomas and James LaPlante; a sister, and 3 brothers.

Survivors include her children, Robert LaPlante, Jr. of Mexico Beach, John LaPlante (Sheree) of Sarasota, and Julie Rains (Ray) of Lynn Haven; 3 brothers, John and Michael Oxley, both of Kansas City, MO and Richard Oxley of Gold Hills, CO; 4 granddaughters, Amanda, Becki, Shannon and Katie; and 4 great-grandsons.

A graveside service will be held at a later date. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Covenant Care Hospice.
