Mary E. Robbins

Mary Elizabeth Robbins, 93, of Parker, Florida passed away peacefully, Monday, March 25, 2019, surrounded by her children. As a child, she made her calling and election sure, living her life dedicated to God and family. She faithfully attended the First Pentecostal Church of Panama City for seventy years. Mary was born June 24, 1925 to Reverend Earl and Reverend Marie McElhaney in Burnside, Kentucky. The family moved to New Castle, Indiana where she lived until adulthood. Mary attended Apostolic Bible Institute in Saint Paul, Minnesota. In 1950 she married George Robbins and raised 4 children in Panama City. As the owner and operator of the Panama Drapery Shoppe for 34 years, she decorated many homes and businesses in Bay County. Upon retiring in 1987, Mary’s focus turned to serving her parents and children. Mary was a devoted daughter, sister, mother, grandmother and great grandmother. She cherished every moment spent with family and friends. Her children fondly referred to her as “the Queen”. Left to cherish her memory are her children Wanda Robbins of Parker, FL, George D. Robbins, Jr. (Rhonda) of Callaway, FL, Gregory B. Robbins of Callaway, FL and A. Scott Robbins I, (Trisha) of Demorest, GA, sisters, Bobbie Crabtree, Betty Bibbs of Panama City, FL, brothers, Bill McElhaney (Dolly) of Cookeville, TN, James McElhaney (Marilyn) of Spring Hill, TN, brothers-in-law, Bob Robbins (Sandi), John Robbins (Gail), and Rebecca Mosely, grandchildren: Joshua, Jared (Lisa), Scott, Sarah, Daniel and Dustyn; great-grandchildren: Alex, Isaac, and Noah. She is also survived by a host of nieces and nephews. The family wishes to extend heartfelt thanks to three very special ladies who spent many hours ministering in labor and love to our mother, Yvonne “Star” Starks, Diane Welch, and Eladia Smith. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Shannon Crabtree, Joshua Robbins, Jared Robbins, Scott Robbins, Daniel Robbins, Dustyn Robbins, and honorary pallbearers, Isaac and Noah Robbins. Funeral services will be held on March 29, 2019 at 7:00 PM in the First Pentecostal Church, 179 N. Tyndall Parkway, Callaway, FL. 32404 with Rev. Allen Crabtree officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested memorials be made to the recovery and restoration effort of the First Pentecostal Church of Panama City, FL.
