MARY CLAUDETTE SPENCE

Mary Claudette Spence, 79, of Panama City, passed away Monday, December 31, 2019. Mrs. Spence was born in Albertville, AL, and had lived in Bay County for the last 50 years. She was a piano teacher, and enjoyed playing the piano at her church as long as she was able. In her later years, Mrs. Spence was a faithful member of Hiland Park Baptist Church. Mrs. Spence loved cooking and spending time with her family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph J. Spence and her daughter Ellen Renee Knight.

Survivors include her daughter, Tammy Creel (Steve), Genice Insco (Allen) , and Angelia Wood (Roger), all of Panama City; her son, Sentry Burkett, of Panama City; her son-in-law, Terry Knight; her brothers, Bennie and Ricky Wilson; 12 grandchildren; 14 great-grandchildren; and numerous step-grandchildren and step-great-grandchildren.

Grave side funeral services will be held at 11:00 AM Thursday, January 3, 2019, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Dr. Steven Kyle officiating. The family will receive friends at Trinity Pentecostal Tabernacle, 5279 Highway 77, Chipley, FL from 9:30 until 10:30 am. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Building Fund at Hiland Park Baptist Church.
