Maureen C. (Smith) (Jacolucci) Gilley

Maureen C. (Smith) (Jacolucci) Gilley died suddenly on December 26th after a sudden stroke.
Maureen was born in Providence, R.I. in 1944, the daughter of Raymond E. and Mary F. (Doonan) Smith. She grew up in Warwick, R.I. graduating from Warwick V. M. H. S. Class of 1962. Thereafter she went to work for GMAC as a collection correspondent. In 1963 she married the late John E. Jacolucci and had a son Kevin. They made their home in Warwick, RI, Pepperell MA, and Pembroke Pines FL. During those years Maureen became the Administrative Assistant for Robert McKittrick & Sons in Lowell, MA and the National Sales & Marketing Manager for CEECO in Ft. Lauderdale FL.
In 1996 she married Douglas Gilley. They made their home in Tamarac, FL before retiring to Chipley FL. Maureen then joined H&R Block as the Marketing Director for Panama City, FL and some southern Alabama offices. She became the television presence for H&R Block on WJHG and WMBB leaving H&R Block last year. She was frequently recognized in the Panama City area as “The Tax Lady” Her infectious smile would light up any room she entered.

Maureen was always a very hard-working, meticulous person and loved to cook for family and friends. She made every family gathering a wonderful occasion.

She is pre-deceased by her son Kevin and survived by her husband Douglas Gilley, her brother Raymond J. Smith of Warwick, RI, her sister Barbara Langworthy and her husband Richard of Franconia, NH, a nephew and grandniece and step-children Larry Gilley, Terri Boardway, Stephanie Gann and many grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Funeral Services will be held at St. Theresa Catholic Church in Sunny Hills, at 11:00 AM January 5, 2018.
