Tribute

Melanie Renee Crenshaw Webster passed away peacefully on 12-1-22 at the very young age of 54 at 6:08p.m.  She was holding the hands of both her daughter and husband while her sister Cricket and Cricket’s partner Terry Wright stood by her side as she let go. Mel was so strong that she was able to hear the love surrounding her and feel the love we had for her even though she was in a coma.  We felt the grip of her hand as we told her how much we loved her and wanted her to no longer endure the suffering from such a cruel disease (ESLD).  She let us know that she loved us and that everything was ok. We called loved ones and let them say their goodbyes including her son, daughter in law, and grand babies which gave her peace.

She lovingly leaves behind her husband Webb Webster of 14 years, and her beloved children Chasity Nicole Crenshaw and Danny Ray Williams Jr.

The funeral will take place Monday, December 5th, 2022 at 10a.m. at Evergreen Memorial Gardens.  The address is 3733 US-231, Panama City, FL.  As for attire, we suggest to wear something nice with maybe a bit of yellow as it was her favorite color.  Mel wouldn’t approve of everyone dressed in black.  She lived a life full of color, fun, and endless love and laughter.

Mel (as she was known to her friends) was born in Toccoa, GA on May 31, 1968. Her parents were Betty Peacock Crenshaw and Theodore Ansel Crenshaw. She was loved by her brothers Perry Crenshaw (wife Martha) and son (Jared), Chris Crenshaw and his children (Theodore, Caylee, and Madison), sisters Cricket Crenshaw (partner Terry Wright) and her children (Brandon, Candy, and Josh), Ruby Crenshaw and her children (Ross and Dustin). She loved her family, friends, and her dogs Rambo and Pixie with all of her heart.  However, the ones who really pulled on her heart strings were her beautiful grand babies Autumn Grace and Olivia Raylynne whom she was and forever will be “Mimi”, refusing to go by Grandma!! And then there was and will forever be the absolute love of her life, Brian Kirk Webster, AKA “Webb”.

They met in 1999 and shared 24 beautiful years together.  They mostly lived together in the Memphis, TN area and later to Humboldt, TN. Mel was not a huge fan of the area because her dream was always to live near the beach.  Ultimately, she picked out a place to live in Panama City Beach because the couple had vacationed once, and she really enjoyed the area. Off they went and at the height of COVID, with no employment they moved to PCB in 2020. In typical Mel fashion, she immediately found a job at Shark’s Tooth Golf Course and made PCB her forever home.

Mel loved going to the beach, Dave and Buster’s, going out to eat, playing darts, playing cards/board games, watching family feud with her daughter, and going on trips with her grandchildren. Her favorite candy was turtles, favorite food was fried pork chops, and she made the best mashed potatoes in the world!!  She could cook anything yet never had a “recipe”.  She was one of a kind!!  Mel was invigorating, and had the most infectious laugh.  She would do anything for anyone and always made people feel happy.  Making friends everywhere she went, Melba was loved by many people. Her beauty will never be forgotten and her strength will be carried on by those who love her the most.  There will never be a day that goes by where her presence will not be missed.  Mel, Melba, Mom, Mimi…we love you endlessly and find it so unfair that we lost you so soon.

Considering she wasn’t an overly sentimental person, she sure did leave showing her love. Webb and her married at the courthouse on December 1st, 2008, then had a ceremony on December 6, 2008 at Cottonwoods Golf Course, where they first met. Again, in true Mel fashion, she let go and felt at peace on December 1st, 2022 at 6:08 p.m. while holding the love of her life’s hand. You really can’t get much more sentimental than that.

Rest Easy you beautiful soul.  We will all be living to make you even more proud of us.  Meet you in heaven! ❤️❤️❤️
