MICHAEL IVAN “MIKE” ABRAMO

June 19, 1945 – December 27, 2022

Michael Ivan “Mike” Abramo, age 77, of Callaway, FL, passed away on December 27, 2022 after a long and courageous battle with cancer.  He will be remembered as a beloved husband, loving father, and devoted grandfather who faithfully served his country with honor.

Mike was born on June 19, 1945, in Wauchula, FL to the late Joseph and Alice Johnson Abramo (Andy) Patrick.  His family later moved to the Tyrone, PA area, where he graduated from high school and thereafter enlisted in the United States Air Force.  Mike spent over twenty years in service of his country, retiring as a tactical aircraft supervisor with the rank of Master Sergeant.  He then earned a degree from Tom P. Haney Technical College and taught in the Bay County Correctional System, where he also retired from there after many years of dedicated service.

In addition to being a devoted husband, father and grandfather, Mike loved trains and antiques and spent many years collecting vintage baseball cards and coins.  He was also very involved in family history and learning about his ancestors.

Mike is survived by his wife of over fifty years, Rumpai “Ooi” Abramo; his children Tantawon “LeeWhite” Josefa, Dowruang “Leena” Shuler, Joseph (Laura) Abramo and Robert Abramo; his grandchildren Falen (Ryan) Syffus, Helaman Shuler, Cannon Shuler, Olivia Shuler, Jay Abramo, Brandon Abramo, Kiely Abramo and Emma Abramo; his brothers John (Gail) Abramo and Wayne (Karen) Abramo and many other beloved family members.

Funeral services will be held on January 3, 2023, at 11:00am (CST) at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2403 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, FL 32405.  The family will receive visitors one hour prior to the service.

Internment with full military honors will take place at Evergreen Cemetery immediately following the service
