Peter T. Shallenberger, 69, of Panama City, Florida, passed away April 27, 2021. Peter grew up in Greece, NY and graduated from Greece Olympia High School. Peter’s professional career included many years as a Tool and Dye maker with Kodak. He proudly served as a Captain with the Brockport Volunteer Fire Department, Capen Hose House No. 4. Peter later relocated to Fountain Inn, SC. While in South Carolina, Peter and his wife acted as foster parents to numerous children. Peter was active in his church and assisted in creating the church’s food bank “God’s Pantry”. In July, 2009 he suffered a stroke which left him unable to care for himself. As a result of his stroke, Peter relocated to Panama City, FL in order for his eldest son to coordinate his care. Peter was an avid sports enthusiast and passionate coach. He loved golf, softball, soccer, and his Buffalo Bills. Most of all, he loved his family. Peter is preceded in death by his parents Erwin T. Shallenberger and Mary M. Schauseil, and his step-daughter Shauna K. Allen. He is survived by his sons, Brian (Susan) of Lynn Haven, FL; Evan (Vicky) of Byron, NY; daughter, Rosmeri of Ransomville, NY and step-daughter, Shostal Messmer (Jaime) of Burt, NY. Peter is also survived by his brothers; Paul, Mark, Karl, Steven; sister Mary; grandchildren Alexis, Thomas, Aleigha, Travis, Riley, Mason; many other family and friends.
Peter will be cremated and a celebration of life will be planned at a later date in Western New York.
