Phillip “Phil” Seymour age 85, of Lynn Haven, Florida passed away peacefully on February 8th, 2024.
He was born on September 4, 1938, in Lanette, Alabama to parents, James and Fannie Mae Seymour.
He graduated from Auburn University with a bachelor’s degree in science and a Master’s Degree in Physics. From there He went to work for the Navy Base as the ADP Computer Security Officer for 39 years. He enjoyed playing tennis, ping pong and bridge. He was a member of St. Andrew United Methodist Church for many years where he served many rolls. His favorites were being a mentor for the youth and Sunday School teacher for the Seekers class.
He enjoyed spending time with family, friends and watching Auburn Football. He loved his family fiercely and everyone knew it. He always loved a good laugh and joked often. He was known for his quick wit and sense of humor. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends, but we rejoice knowing he is pain free and we will see him again one day.
Phillip is predeceased by his parents James and Fannie Mae, and his three brothers James, Bill and Wayne Seymour.
He is survived by his loving wife of 56 years, Susie, his children; Greg Seymour and Susan Wise (Chris), four grandsons; Trenton, Grant, Carter Seymour, Tanner Wise and several nephews and nieces.
On Monday February 12, the family will receive visitors from 6pm-8pm at the Kent- Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel.
The funeral service will be held on Tuesday, February 13th at 10am at St. Andrew United Methodist Church, 2001 West 11th Street Panama City, Florida with Reverend John O. Blount officiating.
Interment will take place at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens, 2403 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, FL 32405.
In Lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the St. Andrew United Methodist Memorial fund or the American Heart Association.
