Phyllis D. Barnes, 80, of Panama City, FL, passed away Sunday, January 12, 2020. She was born April 20th 1939 in Marsteller, PA to the late Wesley and Delca Peel. Phyllis was a homemaker and spent many years volunteering her time and services in events that focused on the elderly community in Bay County. She enjoyed gardening, cooking, fishing, dancing and spending time with her family. She and her late husband, Lawrence of 59 years loved their life in Florida. She is survived by her children, Tracy (John) Bradford of New Florence, PA, Kit Barnes of Panama City, FL, Larry (Elena) Barnes of Round Rock, TX, Kim (Ken) Joiner of Vernon, FL, and Jamie (LuAnn) Barnes of Great Falls, MT; 7 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren; siblings Wesley Peel, Colleen Dee, Doreen Askew, Gary R. Peel and Delca Smith. Preceded in death by, Alexander (Fooze) Peel, and Fred Peel. Family will receive friends on Thursday, January 16th from 1:00 till 2:00 at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2403 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, FL 32405. There will be a graveside service held at 2:30 at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made in Phyllis’ name to the Bay County Council on Aging Respite Program, or your local Community Respite Center.
