Ralph David White age 96 of Panama City, FL passed away in his home, Thursday, July 9, 2020. He was born in Charleston, West Va. to Conley Glenn and Flora White. He went to Trevecca Nazarene College where he met his wife of 78 years, Kathleen. Ralph volunteered during World War II in the United States Navy. He and Kathleen were married in Jacksonville, FL in 1942 before being deported to England as Chief Aviation Ordnanceman until 1945. After serving in England, Ralph and Kathleen moved to Lexington, KY. Thereafter he and his family moved to the gulf coast in Panama City in 1952. Ralph started a business and created West Florida Printers which was located on Harrison Avenue. After 30 years Ralph and his wife retired, residing in Panama City. He was active in the community and served as President and Lieutenant Governor of the Optimist Club. He was a member of the Church of the Nazarene and faithfully acted as Sunday School Superintendent, Board Member and Trustee. He enjoyed occasional deep-sea fishing and family gatherings at St. Andrew State Park. He was a loving husband and looked forward to visits from his children, grandchildren, nieces and nephews. His family remembers him as having a positive attitude, being patient and kind. Ralph is preceded in death by his parents, Conley Glenn and Flora White, his brothers, Glenn and Charles White, sister Frances E. White and his children, David Lynn, Patricia Ann, John Conley, and Pal Leslie White. He is survived by his wife Kathleen, and children Beth (Barry) Tarpley and Jeffry ( Maria) White, grandchildren, Lynn Webb, Kim Houston, Traci White, Travis White, Brandon Tarpley, Brooke Brunner, April Loyle, Katie Sneigoski, Chris, Foster, Saylor, Savannah White, 12 great grandchildren and many great-great grandchildren as well as numerous loving nieces, and nephews and spouses. There will be a graveside ceremony at Evergreen Memorial with Pastor Scott Roberts officiating Thursday, July 16 at 1:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, if you wish, you may make a donation to Ralph’s church, First Church of the Nazarene at 3610 W. 17th Street, Panama City, FL 32401; website is pcnaz.church/giving/.
