Tribute

With her family by her side, Rhonda "Gail" Lindsey, 64, of Lynn Haven went home to be with the Lord on November 8. She was born in Bonifay to the late Laura Bell (Mauldin) and Clarence Ivy McDaniel. Gail was one of six children. She is survived by her devoted husband and best friend, Wayne Lindsey, her loving children, grandchildren, brothers, sisters, family and a magnitude of friends.

At this point, most often we would begin to read of life accomplishments, consisting of graduations, job/career choices, and any other milestone event experienced. However, doing such would be an injustice to this beautiful soul for she believed life was not merely about experiences but also about the remembrance left to others. Writing this in a typical fashion would simply not encompass appropriately who Gail really was for she was so much more than a timeline of events.

Gail was the matriarch, the very life force, and the grounding rod of her family. Anyone who knew her knew she was a kind and beautiful soul. Her eyes were the loveliest shade of green and when she smiled they sparkled with happiness, lighting up even the darkest of rooms. The sound of her laughter was infectious, and when you heard that laugh even if not in plain sight you knew-it was Gail. The sound of her voice was unique only to her. It was dappled with a sweet southern drawl, soft word choices, and a kind gentleness.

She was full of life. She was a lady in every essence of the definition. She oozed southern charm and grace.

She taught her children and grandchildren to have morals and values, the importance of honestly, and how to hold a proper conversation with just about anyone. She understood the value of family and passed down that belief to those around her. She modeled how to love and love deeply. She demanded perfection, but accepted flaws.

She taught the value of hard-work and good manners She was a good person. She was strong, yet tender.

She was a confidant and loyal friend. She was a sister, an aunt, and a loving wife. She was a remarkable mother and an extraordinary GG. She was breathtaking. She inspired us to be better and do better on a daily basis. She was a lady of distinction. The world is a better place for having her in it and she will be sorely missed by all that had the joy and privilege of walking life's pathways with her.

Services will be held at Holy Nativity Episcopal Church at 10:00 am on Thursday, November 14. A celebration of life will directly follow services with a time of fellowship open to all family and friends in the Parish Hall

Memorial contributions may be made to Holy Nativity Episcopal School or Holy Nativity Episcopal Church.

It is fitting to end with Gail's favorite prayer. May these words resonate with you, "Life is short and we haven't much time to gladden the hearts of others. So be swift to love, make haste to be kind, and may goodness follow you all the days of your life."
