Tribute

Richard Leroy Nallick, 87, of Panama City went to be with the Lord on June 26, 2022. Richard was born in Minneapolis, Minnesota on August 21, 1934, to the late Lois Winge and Frank Nallick of Minneapolis. He is survived by his wife of 44 years, Joan Nallick (McCommon), and their 8 children.

Mark Nallick (Ruth), Barbara Conti, Theresa Nallick, Kathy Parrick (Ronny), and Carol Nallick, Kay Wesley (Richard), Wendy Funk (Charles), and Dan lVlcCommon (Kathy); Brother Gary Miller, and numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, and extended family.

Richard (Dick) retired from the United States Air Force as a Lieutenant Colonel after serving his country for 31 years. During one of his tours of Vietnam, he was affectionately known as the "Thief of Maintenance". He also assisted with the construction of several orphanages in South Vietnam and Thailand. Following his AF retirement, he worked for the Bay County school district as a teacher for 21 years. Dick had a servant's heart. In his spare time, he volunteered for multiple activities, including serving food and washing dishes for the Rescue Mission at First United Methodist Church, representing the best interests of children as a court-appointed Guardian ad Litem, supporting the Red Stocking Review and the PC Woman's Club for Joan, and providing Meals on Wheels with the Kiwanis. Dad was also once a member of the St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club and served as Vice-Commodore for a year.

Dick loved to travel and was an avid sailor, RV-enthusiast, and gardener. He provided many of his kids and grandkids their first opportunity of manning the sails or tasting their first home-grown tomato. Dick was not one to sit idle and was always tinkering with something, building or fixing things around their house or the kids' homes, or tending to their lush yard and bountiful garden. Dick was also not one to complain and could always find the silver lining in even the darkest clouds. He brightened many lives along the way.

Funeral arrangements, including full military honors, will be held at Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home and Cemetery, 2403 Harrison Ave. in Panama City, FL on June 29, 2022 at 11:00 A.M.
