Robert Bentley West

Robert Bentley West, 69 of Panama City, passed away May 7, 2018 at Seabreeze Nursing Home. Bobby was born March 12, 1949 in Oxford, AL to Harold Frederick and Margie Pauline (Bentley) West and moved to Panama City in 1987. Music was Bobby’s passion throughout his life and at age 16, Bobby used his talents as Minister of Music at the 1st Baptist Church in Oxford, AL as well as playing piano and singing for Cedar Grove Baptist Church choir and quartet. He was also the church chairman of the Deacons. Locally he worked for Lowe’s designing kitchen cabinets. Bobby was united in marriage on June 8, 1969 to his wife, Becky who resides in Panama City. He is also survived by his sons, Robby West and wife Ellen West of Panama City Beach and Marty West and wife April West of Panama City; his niece, Mandy West of Oxford, AL; his brother, Hal West and wife, Sandra West of Oxford, AL; his grandchildren, Kyle, Kaitlynn West and Isabelle Stevens all of Panama City and Natalie West of Panama City Beach and his great-grandchildren, Emma Rose West and Robert Klyde West both of Panama City. Robert is preceded in death by his parents and his dog, Sheeba. A Memorial Service will take place 1 pm Saturday at the Cedar Grove Baptist Church. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Bobby's memory to the Cedar Grove Baptist Church Youth Fund.
