Rowlett William Bryant

On Friday, October 2, 2020, Rowlett William Bryant, passed away peacefully at home at the age of 84. Rowlett was born in Tampa on April 25, 1936 and raised in Lakeland, FL. From the age of 5 years old, Rowlett always knew he wanted to be a lawyer. He graduated from the University of Florida and Stetson University College of Law, Gulfport, FL with his LL.B in 1962. After briefly serving in the United States Army Reserve, he relocated to Panama City, Florida to raise a family and start his career. Building his practice through the years, in 1983 Rowlett joined forces with Lynn C. Higby and co-founded the Bryant and Higby law firm where he worked at what he loved until his retirement, mentoring a number of fresh new lawyers along the way. He was a gifted attorney and remained committed to serving this community throughout his life. Among his many accolades, he served as City Attorney for Panama City for more than 40 years and was a founding father of Gulf Coast Regional Medical Center. Rowlett is survived by his wife of 22 years, Gabriel, 4 daughters, Michelle Smith, Panama City, Paige Delk, Clearwater, Joy Gherch, Deerfield Beach, FL and Sami Constant (Chris), Coconut Creek, FL. His grandchildren Matthew Smith, Panama City Beach, Julie Smith Lucas, (Drew), Panama City and Cross Soriero, Coconut Creek, FL as well as his great granddaughters, Grey and Annie. He is also survived by his sister-in-law Sandy Bryant, her 2 daughters, and their families. He is preceded in death by his parents, Olin G. and Mabel “Clyde” Edenfield Bryant, wife Marguerite, and brother, Olin Jr. Rowlett had a deeply rooted sense of integrity and lived a full, rich life, blessed with many close friends and a loving family. He was known for his love of cooking, Harley Davidson motorcycles, and vintage cars. Rowlett found great joy in woodworking, landscaping, or simply being at his warehouse where he loved to have friends stop by for a visit.
