SIDNEY M. BARFIELD

Sidney M. Barfield, 82, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, August 8, 2019, with his family at his side. Sidney was born in Graceville, FL, to the late Dessie and Frank Barfield, and lived most of his life in Bay County. He was a graduate of Bay High School, and worked over 44 years at the Paper Mill. Sidney was a member of the Callaway Lodge # 369, F & AM, and enjoyed fishing and gardening. He was preceded in death by his wife of 56 years Barbara, a daughter, Mary Olivia McNeil, and a brother, Jimmy Earl Barfield.

Survivors include his daughter, Melinda Large of Panama City; 3 grandchildren, Barbara Sherman, Desiree Mitchell and Leif Large; 3 great-grandchildren; 1 great-great-granddaughter; and 3 sisters-in-law, Mina Brown, Linda Hartsfield and Carol Barfield;

Graveside funeral services will be held at 10:00 AM Monday, August 12, 2109, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel Sunday evening from 6:00 until 8:00 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Shaddai Shrine Temple, 1109 W. 19th St., Panama City, FL 32405.
