Steven Marcus "Mark" Arrant

Mr. Steven Marcus (Mark) Arrant of Wewahitchka, Fl. departed this earth to be with his Lord on July 28, 2020 at the age of 67.

He was born on October 29, 1952 in Panama City, Fl where he was raised in the Church of God. He taught himself to read music and play piano. He later became the church pianist and taught Sunday School for many years. 

Mark was a 1971 graduate of Rutherford High School. He continued his education at Gulf Coast and West Florida, where he earned his Bachelor's degree. He had a passion for education and touched many lives through his 40 plus years of teaching and mentoring in Bay and Gulf counties. Known as Mr. Arrant or "the cool guy" to most of his "children", he had a unique way of making learning interesting and fun. He thoroughly enjoyed the works of William Shakespeare and Edgar Allen Poe, often quoting them to anyone who would listen. He never failed to go the extra mile to ensure his students received the best educational experience he could offer. 

Mark was affectionately known as Uncle Bubba to his nieces and nephew. He was a permanent fixture in their lives from the day they were born. He never missed a birthday, graduation, or other family gathering. The love he had for his family ran deep. To know him was to love him. His gentle ways and playful wit will be forever missed. 

 Mark is preceded in death by his loving grandmothers, Lydia Smith and Rosa Arrant; parents, Mr. and Mrs. L.D. Arrant; and brother Mike Roberts.
 
Survivors include sisters, Elaine Arrant of Wewahitchka, Kathy Robison (Ray) of Malone, Fl; nieces, Christy Roberts Martin and family, Erin Robison-Naramore (Mitchell) of Taylor, Al; nephew, Sam Robison of Malone, Fl; and great niece, Emmi, who was the sunshine of his life. 

Funeral services will be held 11:00 A.M. Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Glad Tidings Assembly of God. Family will receive friends 10:00 A.M. – 11:00 A.M. at Glad Tidings.

Graveside will be held 1:30 P.M. Thursday, August 6, 2020 at Wood Cemetery.
