TOMMY ALLEN SMITH

Tommy Allen Smith, 64, of Lynn Haven, passed away November 30, 2019, at home surrounded by his family. Tommy was born in Dallas, TX, and lived in Bay County for the last 25 years, moving here from Austin, TX. He was a commercial airline pilot, flying for Mesa Airlines/US Airways for 25 years. Tommy was a member of the Jenks Avenue Church of Christ, and enjoyed music, golf, and playing the guitar. He was preceded in death by his father, Dr. Edward Lee Smith.

Survivors include his wife of 38 years, Candie Smith; his children, Jillian Benefield of Panama City Beach and Erick Smith of Lynn Haven; his mother, Wilma Smith Hill (Walt) of Waco, TX; his brother, Russell Smith (Donnis) of Waco, TX; a sister, Marsha Turner (Steve) of Austin, TX; and his granddaughter, Payton Benefield.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 pm Friday, December 6, 2019, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Minister Jack Reece officiating. Interment will follow at Garden of Memories cemetery. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 1:00 pm until service time at 2:00. Asked to serve as pallbearers are Erick Smith, Nick Taylor, Josh Borden, Blake Furbee, Keith Furbee, Corey Turner, Chris Bradley, and Dee Nall.
