Tribute

Travis Allen Keepin was born in Panama City, FL, on September 24, 2003, to Marcella Keepin and Jason Fincher. Travis passed away on May 9, 2020, following a 22-month battle with leukemia. He is survived by the following: his parents; his grandparents Richard and Brenda Keepin of Panama City; his sisters, Tiffany and Tabitha Keepin; his Uncle Jeff and Aunt Christina and Cousin Joshua Ekstrom of Suwanee, GA; as well as numerous other relatives and friends.

Travis was a gregarious young man with a big smile and a warm heart. He played football for the Highland Park Razorbacks and also played the saxophone in the Deane Bozeman High School Marching  Band. He particularly enjoyed the band, working his way back from chemotherapy treatments and hospitalization to participate in the 2019 marching season. He was very fond of his band directors Melissa Gray of Merritt Brown Middle School and Brandon Poiroux of Deane Bozeman High School.

Travis spent the majority of his 22 months in treatment at the Ronald McDonald House of Northwest Florida. He was featured in a publication from the MRHC, “Home Away from Home.” His story inspired contributions to RMHC which enabled them to help more children in their time of need.

Travis spent his days playing video games , watching monster movies, and spending time with his friends from school. He loved road trips with his grandma including trips to Orlando, Jax, St. Augustine, Key West, and St. Louis, MO. He spent summers in Atlanta, AG, with his aunt and uncle. He was a wonderful person who brightened our lives.

Services will be held on Wednesday, May 13, 2020, at Kent-Forrest Lawn Funeral Home located at  2403 Harrison Ave., Panama City, FL.
