VIRGINIA R. MCCORMACK
Mrs. Virginia (Jenny) McCormack, 81, passed away on April 29, 2022, at Pruitt Health and Rehabilitation Center plus extended illness having been in several other medical institutions. She was born in Geneva, AL, moving to Panama City where she attended the Gulf Coast Community College for Radiology Technician. She then went to Geneva, AL and Montgomery AL areas working as a Radiology Technician followed with moving back to Panama City. Jenny then taught Radiology Technology at Gulf Coast Community College, and started working at the Gulf Coast Hospital while being very active in the Panama City Radiology Technology Society.
Mrs. McCormack earned her rating as an RT, CT Technologist, and won a Tyndall AFB contract as a CT Technologist, performing an outstanding job when she retired to be a devoted and loving mother and wife. Jenny cared for and loved her family in many ways, sharing her heart and soul to all. She loved her church, and was a devoted member of the Hiland Park Baptist Church. She was pre-deceased by her parents, Sue Ramer and Johnny Ramer of Panama City.
Survivors include her husband, Eugene L. McCormack, Jr., Lt. Col. USAF Retired of 41 years; daughter Jeanna Joe Jeffcoat of Panama City; son, Joseph Jeffcoat (Irena) of Tallassee, AL; step sons, Lawrence McCormack of Defuniak Springs, FL, John McCormack (Angie) of Watkinsville, GA; and step daughter, Mary Pennington (Russ) of Tallahassee, FL; her sisters, Ann Gispanski (Rick) and Shirley Chismar, all of Panama City; and nine grandchildren living in various states.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, May, 5, 2022, at 2:00 PM with visitation one hour prior at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home, 2403 Harrison Avenue, Panama City, FL 32405 with Rev. Carl Fondren of Hiland Park Baptist Church officiating. Entombment will follow at Forest Lawn Cemetery.
