William Charles Reed

     William “Uncle Bill” C. Reed, age 74, of Southport, Florida, passed away peacefully Thursday, December 1st, 2022.  William was born April, 8th, 1948 to Babe Ruth and Emaline (Johnson) Reed in Tuscola, Illinois.  William is survived by his wife, Patricia (George) Reed, and three children: William (Sonya), Shanette, and Shara.  He had six grandchildren: William Jr., Jeremy, Kalynn, Justin, Jayson and Jordyn.  He, also, was loved by many great grand children.  William was preceded in death by a son, Justin, and a brother, Ronald “Pops” Reed.   William, an Army E4 Veteran, was well loved and known as Uncle Bill is his community.  His experiences in the Army was serving two terms in The Vietnam War as a “Tunnel Rat..and One of the few to make it back home alive.  He was a life time member of the VFW 2185 and an American Legion member/rider of post 375.  Uncle Bill loved his family, his many friends, and riding with his “Brothers”.  Thank you all so much.  He will be remembered for his open invitation to “Pop’s Place”, always lending a helping hand, his love for antiquing, and their lil fur girl, Mouse.  Uncle Bill will be missed by many.  There will be no services, but a “Celebration of life” will be determined and announced at a later date.
