W.C. (Poker) Cooper Jr., 89, of Panama City, Florida passed away Tuesday, July 4, 2017 at a local care center.

Poker was born July 27, 1927 in Defunak Springs. FL. to Mr. and Mrs. W.C. Cooper Sr. He moved to Panama City as a young boy when his father Started W.C. Cooper Plumbing and Heating. He worked in and became owner of the business during his working career. He served in the United States Navy at the end of World War II and served the Korean Conflict, honorably serving his country. He attended Bay High School and Chipola Junior College. Poker’s favorite place was his camp at Howard Creek where he spent the majority of his free time enjoying hunting and fishing. He was an excellent fisherman and passed the love of the outdoors to his sons. He was a life member of American Legion Post 66 and served as a director of The Central Panhandle Fair of Bay County.

He was preceded in death by his son Mark Cooper.

He is survived by his loving wife of 66 years Sara Culbreath Cooper; son Matt Cooper and wife Cheryl; granddaughter Christina; daughter- in – law Linda Cooper.

The family thanks Covenant Hospice for their extraordinary care during the final days.
Poker was a kind man who will be deeply missed by his friends and family.

Funeral services will be held at 2:00 P. M. Friday, July 7, 2017 at Kent Forest Lawn Funeral Home. A private graveside will follow. Family will receive friends 1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home.
