Bill was a Certified Public Accountant and owner of Steiner & Co. CPA’s located on 23rd Street. He was a sailor and member of St. Andrews Bay Yacht Club for almost 20 years. He was also a board member, and patron of the Panama City POPS Orchestra. Bill was born on November 24, 1949 in Pensacola, Florida to James Logan and Cora “Kay” (Osborne) Steiner. Bill grew up in Pensacola and Donalsonville, Georgia graduating from Seminole County High School in 1967, where he played snare drum in the marching band. He was a graduate of the University of Florida business school and majored in accounting. He lived in Gainesville, Florida for 20 years working in public accounting, institutional accounting at the University of Florida, and in corporate accounting with Energizer. He relocated to Panama City in 1995 to be closer to family and opened Steiner & Co. He thoroughly enjoyed the second half of his career working with his clients at the firm. He truly embodied his career as part of who he was and strived to excel at client service every day.

Always someone who treasured the outdoors, Bill was a scuba diver in the early days of scuba. He became a dive instructor and participated in spear fishing tournaments around Panama City in the 70s and 80s. In the early 90’s, he bought his first sailboat and remained an avid yachtsman until his death. An adventurer at heart, he went on multiple open water sailing trips to the Florida Keys and the Bahamas as well as in and around the waterways of the panhandle. He always looked forward to time on his boat with family and friends on St. Andrews Bay.

He is preceded in death by his parents, James Logan and Cora Steiner; his brother; Charles Robert (Bob) Steiner; and son, Michael Christmas, all of Panama City.
