WILLIAM H. "BILL" MELTON, II
Bill Melton, 59, of Panama City, FL passed away March 2, 2021. Bill was born in Little Rock, Arkansas to William H. Melton and Gam Thi Melton, and lived in Bay County for the last 30 years. He proudly served his country in the US Army, attaining the rank of Sergeant First Class, as a Green Beret in Special Forces. After his military career, Bill was a police officer in Dallas, Texas and Panama City, FL. Bill also was involved in coaching football from middle school to high school, and enjoyed being an baseball umpire and football referee.
He is survived by his wife of 27 years, Diane Jennings-Melton; their children, Dustin, Christopher and Krystal; 7 grandchildren; and numerous brothers, sisters, nieces, nephews, and other relatives and friends.
A Celebration of Life service for Bill will be held at 3:00 PM Sunday, March 7, 2021, at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Virgil Tillman officiating. The family will receive friend at the funeral home from 2:00 PM until service time at 3:00.
