WILLIE MAE WILKES
Mrs. Willie Mae Wilkes, 80, of Parker, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 in St. Petersburg, FL. Mrs. Wilkes was a native and life long resident of Bay County and member of the founding family of Parker, FL. She retired after 33 years as Media Specialist at the Bay County School Board. Mrs. Wilkes loved fishing, working in her yard, and spending time with family and friends. She was preceded in death by her husband, Wayne Wilkes, Sr., a brother J. C. Parker, and sister, Hazel Foster.
Survivors include her children, Peggy Gilbert (Richard) of Chipley; Debbie Christmas (Chris) and Wayne Wilkes, Jr. (Pam), all of Panama City; her sisters, Louise Norton of Lynn Haven and Helen Dries (Bob) of Pennsylvania; 5 grandchildren, Kacy Frimmel (Jimmy) of Tallahassee, Tanner Gilbert of Marianna, Blake Christmas( Lindsay) of Chipley, Nicholas Christmas of Panama City and Derrick Wilkes (Kaytlyn) of Panama City; her great-grandchildren, Lily, Katie, Blaine, Kash, Kyry, Kynly, and Kastyn.
Graveside services will be held at 11:00 AM Monday, October 14, 2019, at Garden of Memories Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the Alzheimer's Foundation, www.alzfdn.org. The family extends special thanks to the staff members of the Bay Center and The Abbey for their loving care of Mrs. Wilkes.
