Wilma Roebuck

April 24, 1920 ~ December 8, 2018 (age 98) 98 Years Old

Tribute

Wilma Roebuck was born on April 24, 1920, in Columbus Ohio. She moved to Orlando, Florida and graduated from high school in 1937. She returned to Columbus, Ohio to attend comptroller school. She worked in accounting for various companies. She met her husband, Vaughn Roebuck, at a roller skating rink in 1938 and married him on November 27, 1938. Mr. Mrs. Roebuck moved to Panama City, Florida on February 26, 1942 with 26 other families from Ohio to open Tyndall Air Force Base. Wilma worked at the shipyard during World War II and saw the first ship built and launced. She then went on to work at Tyndall AFB in the payroll department. Together they had three children, 4 grandchildren and 4 great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Vaughn Roebuck. Those left to cherish her memory include her children Linda Roebuck Powell, Sandra Chernock and James V. Roebuck and wife Maxine Roebuck. Grandchildren: Alisa Taylor and husband Robert, James Cutchin and wife Robin, Josh Chernock and Jeremy Chernock. Great-Grandchildren:Matthew Knotts, Lyndsey Knotts, Max Cutchin and McKenna Cutchin.
Wilma was involved in all phases of her children, grandchildren and great grandchildren lives; Brownie and Girl Scout Leader, Bay High School Band Boosters, PTA State Board Life Member, Lifetime Member of The Eastern Star Masonic Organization, Mother Adviser to the order of Rainbow Girls, Royal Matron of the order of the Amaranth. Panama City Women’s Club, for over 20 years, Gulf Coast Women’s Club for 26 years, 25 years active in Widowed Persons Service and 16 year member in the classic Ladies of the Shrine.
Wilma served in many office in these organization. Wilma and her husband, Vaughn, did a lot of traveling in several camping clubs and were members of the Antique Auto Club of America while enjoying their 1926 Model T Ford.

Wilma was always ready for adventure, no matter where she was going. She will be greatly missed!

Funeral services will be held 2:00 P.M. at Emerald Coast Fellowship Church. Family will receive friends and family 1:00 P.M. - 2:00 P. M. at the church.
