Addison A. ”Pete” Bennett, 85 of Panama City, passed away Thursday, February 23, 2017 at Covenant Care Hospice. Pete was born February 18, 1932 in South Amboy, NJ to Ernest and Lena (Conover) Bennett. Pete is a United States Navy Veteran and a member of Bay Lodge #337 F&AM; the Scottish and York Rite Bodies; the St. Johns Commandery and Knights Templar as well as the Shaddai Shrine Temple. Pete retired as an Assistant Director with over 20 years of employment with Bay County Water Treatment. He is preceded in death by his wife, Barbara and is survived by his children, Scott (Betsy) Bennett of Panama City, Pamela (Mitchell) Hagans, of Lynn Haven, Cindy (Alan) Vann of Panama City and Laura-Lyn (Mikel) Rice of Sarasota. He is also survived by his 10 grandchildren and fourteen great-grandchildren. Friends will be received Saturday from 2-3 pm at the Kent-Forest Lawn Funeral Home where memorial services will take place that day at 3pm. Inurnment will take place privately at Evergreen Memorial Gardens at a later date. The Bay Lodge, #337 F&AM will open Saturday at 1:30 pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made in Pete’s memory to the Shaddai Shrine Temple, Panama City.
