Dot was a library volunteer of highest merit for several years during my tenure as Vernon Elementary School Librarian. She was intelligent, precise, dependable, tireless and fun in her interactions with students & staff. Not only did she volunteer multiple days per week during the regular school year, but she volunteered independently during summer months. When we returned to school, it was if elves had worked all summer processing new books, repairing old ones, etc. She recruited new volunteers as well, and trained and supervised them . She was an integral, treasured part of our library services. She will be sorely missed, yet forever cherished as a coworker & friend.
