Olive Deane FerrellMarch 8, 1930 ~ December 31, 2017 (age 87)
Olive Deane (Banks) Ferrell, 87, walked into the arms of her Lord and Savior on Sunday, December 31, 2017. Olive was born on March 8, 1930 in Panama City, to Thomas and Deane Banks. She was a graduate of Bay High School in 1948. She was employed at the Christo’s Five and Ten store where she met her husband, Hubert Ferrell. They were married in 1953, and celebrated 32 years of marriage before his passing in 1986. She had the privilege of raising 6 wonderful daughters in the same house she resided in until October 2017. She then went to live with her daughter Peggy and husband Randall in Warner Robins, Georgia. She was also employed as a substitute teacher at PCCS and a clerk for the state of Florida. She was preceded in death by her husband Hubert, infant son, granddaughter Cherith McCrum and son-in-law Steve Harrison. She is survived by six daughters, Debra (Mike) McCrum, Patti (Lloyd) Bedford, Peggy (Randall) Nash, Becky Harrison, Melissa (Bruce) Schneider, and Susie (Karl) Swope; 18 grandchildren, 11 great grandchildren, sister-in-law Jane Bodiford; brother-in-law Jim DeWitt and numerous nieces and nephews. She was a faithful charter member of Central Baptist Church and the Athlea Sunday School class. Her favorite pastime was serving at her church and encouraging others. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 3, 2018 at 1:00 pm at the Central Baptist Church. A memorial service will immediately follow at 2:00 pm. After the service, Olive will be laid to rest in the Kent-Forest Lawn Cemetery.
