Barbara Maude Barfield

Barbara M. Barfield, 73, of Panama City, passed away Thursday, June 13, 2013, at a local hospital. Barbara was born in Cairo, GA, and lived in Bay County since 1955. She was a homemaker, and a member of Callaway Baptist Church. Barbara enjoyed fishing, gardening and caring for her family. She was preceded in death by her parents, Humble and Doris Hartsfield, and a brother, Alex Hartsfield.

Survivors include her husband of almost 56 years, Sidney M. Barfield of Panama City; 2 daughters, Mary Olivia McNeil of St. Petersburg FL and Melinda Large and husband Jan Erik of Fountain; a sister, Mina Brown and husband Flynn of Bonifay; a sister-in-law, Linda Hartsfield of Panama City; her grandchildren, Barbara Chancellor, Desiree Pennington and Leif Large; a great-grandson, Justin Marshall, and several nieces and a nephew.

A graveside funeral service will begin at 10:00 AM Monday, June 17, 2013, at Evergreen Memorial Gardens with Rev. Don Hodges officiating. Interment will follow. The family will receive friends at the funeral home from 5:00 until 7:00 PM Sunday, June 16, 2013. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the American Cancer Society in memory of Barbara Barfield.
