I knew Pat because we grew up in the same town, but I also got to know her professionally, when I worked at the public library in Columbus, Ga. Pat was unique in what she knew and the job she performed at the Ledger-Enquirer. I would telephone her from the reference desk, asking for local biographical information, or anything of an historical nature. This was before the days of computers, but local information was not always on computers anyway. Pat always seemed to have it all at her fingertips. And, of course, we always got around to talking about "The Valley," because we were from the same place.
When she retired, they didn't replace her. She was irreplaceable, anyway! What a sweet, gracious Southern lady she was. We will all miss her.

Gaines and family members -- deepest sympathy to all of Patricia's extended family.
I read about her passing today in the local Columbus, GA Ledger Enquirer. I remember several of the Fetner family members from attending grammar and high school in Fairfax.

Please know that you are all in my thoughts and prayers. Georgette

The world has lost a lovely, lovely lady. I knew Pat when were members of the AZO club in Phenix City. Her cheerful personality and ever present smile will be missed.
